Update on my Web Design Course

I now have finished all the theory parts of the Web Design course and the assessments that went along with them. These assessments covered each of the three parts of the course and I have passed all of them with a top grade of Distinction in each.

The latest assessment was on using PowerPoint and as I was a complete beginner to Powerpoint when I started using it I learnt a lot. I start a placement with a local community association on Tuesday next and will be designing and building a website to cover all their activities.

This will keep me going for a few weeks as they have a lot going on at present and have even more planned for the future. I, as I may have mentioned in an earlier post, have decided to write an e-book on using PowerPoint to create a video.

This I have started and am progressing slowly with it.  To date I have completed the first 17 pages and I am still only on the second chapter so it looks as though it is going to be a large book. If you guys complete your GED diploma, you can continue your education and use my resources for free as well!

The first 50 people to request a copy will get one FREE of charge and after that I may give a discounted price to the next XX number of requests.  Who knows by the time it is finished I may decide to give it away to everyone who wants a copy.  I haven’t decided yet exactly what way I will proceed.

The book will be useful to you if you want to learn about, and how to use, PowerPoint as I am detailing all the steps needed to create slides and then string them together with audio to make the video.

If you have seen any Camtasia videos the finished video made with PowerPoint is similar. One main differance is that PowerPoint does not allow you to have a moving pointer as you have in Camtasia, which is a drawback, but if you have Microsoft Office installed on your computer already it saves you the expense of purchasing Camtasia.

If you would like to be one of the first to get a copy of this e-book leave me a comment below and state you want a copy.  I will add your name and email to the request list and notify you when the book is finished and where you can get your copy from.

At last I have my E-Book finished apart from proofreading which is the next step. All I have to do now is create the cover and sales letter for it.  The final page count was heading towards 70 but by editing and reducing screenshot sizes I managed to reduce this to 46. As I said in an earlier post if you are one of the first 50 to request a copy you will get it FREE.  So far I have had 3 requests for the e-book.

For those who haven’t read my earlier posts the title of the e-book is “How To Create A Video Presentation Using Microsoft PowerPoint. I was emailed a video created with Microsoft PowerPoint but I have been unable to upload it to here as the file size is too big.  This video consists of 50 slides and music which goes along with them, the last slide of the 50 contains the words of the song and is set to repeat the music over and over again.

Depending on copyright rules and regulations I may be able to include it with the e-book as a sample of what can be done with a PowerPoint presentation. I will not be sending out details of where you can get your copy of the e-book until next week as I want to check it over and make sure I haven’t any errors in it before doing so, but rest assured it will be available to download before the end of the month.

Any of Alex Jeffrey’s students going to Las Vegas for his seminar take plenty of video and let those of us who cannot make it see what we are missing, I wish I could have gone along but circumstances dictated otherwise. NOTE the optin form on the right is not yet active but will be once I finalise the e-book
